We are excited to announce that Sero has recently welcomed our new CFO (Chief Finance Officer) Matt Burton, arriving from Hodge Bank Matt has held several senior roles within Finance and at C-level Director with experience in financial services, listed companies, turnarounds, transformation and rapid growth.
Matt brings a wealth of experience to Sero after holding roles in numerous organisations that include Retail Director and Deputy CEO at Hodge Bank a regulated entity, the media company Future Plc as part of the original turnaround team and Zodiac Plc. In addition to these positions, Matt has held Non-Executive Director roles for several companies.
Matt joins Sero at an exciting time when our focus on growth and expanding into different markets will be greatly suited to his experience. Matt has extensive experience in Senior Finance roles including CFO covering global requirements including Reporting, Tax, and financial planning along with commercial experience in contract negotiation, HR, litigation, and M&A.

We caught up with Matt shortly after he joined Sero to ask him a few questions about why Sero and what he’s looking forward to most!
What was it about Sero that made you join the organisation?
Having spent the last year with Sero as a non Executive Director it was an easy decision to move into the Executive team. The purpose of the organisation combined with its culture made this an easy decision for me. Getting homes to net zero whilst helping customers to live comfortably & affordably is so important.
What are you most looking forward to achieving and working on at Sero?
The opportunities for Sero are massive but for me the key achievement goes back to the reason the business was set up which is to find solutions that achieve net zero in housing but do it in a way that ensures that residents have a comfortable and affordable solution which is key.

This has to happen and I’m thrilled that I am going to be part of this housing revolution.
