How We Work With You

Delivering large-scale retrofit takes careful planning, financing, robust delivery, and long-term operation.

Our approach has been carefully designed to support you, your stakeholders, and residents every step of the way. We’ll work with you to make sure you implement the right strategy, find the right funding solutions, get everyone confident, and your project delivered and operating the right way.

Our Steps Together

We’ll take a sample of your homes, and complete a high-level assessment, to determine whether our Energy as a Service model could be a viable funding option for you.

Result: You can start the conversation internally and begin to get stakeholder buy-in.

We’ll help you select the right homes for the initial project and undertake a full financial modelling exercise and feasibility study to help build your business case.

Result: You’ll have all the information and support you need to get your stakeholders and board engaged and confident, and the business case signed off.

Once your project gets the green light, we’ll team up with your finance, legal, and procurement teams along with our partners, to shape the delivery of your project.

Result: From getting contracts in place and selecting your funder and payback model to setting up energy-as-a-service agreements with your residents, we’ll make sure everything’s ready to go.

Installation works commence, Sero provides design and validation support to ensure homes are retrofitted as quickly as possible and to the highest standards. We’ll also work with you and your installation teams to get your residents informed, comfortable, and onboard.

Result: Full confidence that your project has been delivered the right way, minimising risk, and unintended consequences.

Once the solar and PV panels are installed, we’ll start metering and billing your residents, saving them money on their bills and paying back your investment. An active monitoring and maintenance plan will commence, with Sero providing insights and alerts to ensure systems are working at their optimum.

Result: Well-serviced residents, monthly reporting, and maintained reliable equipment.

We’re Doing It

Our funded retrofit solution was born from completing the Penderi Energy Project, the largest retrofit project of its kind in the UK. On behalf of Pobl, we’re currently billing their residents for their renewable energy and in doing so, we’ve learned many lessons that are now included in our solution.
